RUN

Hello, well welcome.

I am excited to post my first post on my new website, Achieving My Base.  My goal is to write 2 articles a week that will be published.  I want Achieving My Base to be a reminder to everyone that you can still enjoy life, while keeping your eye on Your Base.  I’ll be posting on things I enjoy in life, while keeping a focus on the most important thing in my life, Jesus.

Today, being an avid sports fan that I am,  I was reminded of a play in a Super Bowl that I still shake my head at.  It happened in Super Bowl XXVII between the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills.  Leon Lett of the Cowboys had recovered a fumble and was on his way to score a touchdown.  He had gone almost 64 yards when he decided he would begin casually jogging and celebrating before he had reached the end zone.

The funniest thing to me is he was on about the 1 yard line when a Buffalo Bills player that was sprinting caught up to him and caused Lett to fumble.  Lett did not score and did not make it to he where he wanted to go.  This play is considered one of the biggest football blunders in Super Bowl history.

Seems pretty silly and foolish, right?  Some might even consider this as being lazy.

This reminded me of a passage of scripture.

Hebrews 12:1-2

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the founder and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of God.”

What a powerful couple of verses.

This is a reminder that we need to RUN.  We are in a race, and it is a journey, but there is an end zone.  I can’t celebrate before I get there,  and it certainly wouldn’t be in my best interest to casually jog until I get there.  I must RUN.  You must RUN.

Let’s RUN.  Let’s do it.  I’m here to help you!  I want to Achieve My Base.  I want you to Achieve yours as well!  Let me know how I can help.

Press on and God Bless.
