25 Months…and not turning back.

February 5th, 2018. That is when it all started. Here is a glimpse into a bit of my story. For some of you that don’t know me, I have lost around 45 pounds and maintained that weight for 25 months and counting.

My wife has a friend who is a nutrition coach who helps others achieve a healthy lifestyle through various nutrition products and a 30 day clean eating challenge. The 30 day clean eating challenge is when you take a wide range of foods away and do not eat them for 30 days. After the 30 days, you can slowly integrate them back in to see which ones make you feel crummy. It’s like a body detox. During this 30 days, you cannot eat foods like corn, pork, potatoes, among other things.

Well, my wife came to me one day and said she had been wanting to do the 30 day clean eating challenge for quite some time. Me, trying to be a supportive husband, thought it would be better if we did the challenge together. That way, we didn’t have to spend money on fried chicken and french fries for me, and healthy food for her. We could consolidate the grocery shopping and enjoy the challenge together.

Our 30 day clean eating challenge started on February 5th, 2018. Let me tell you, it was difficult, but we made it through it!

And the rest is history. That challenge literally changed how I view food. It taught me to view food as medicine, and that the food you eat does so much for how you feel.

I was right around 195 pounds or so and am maintaining a weight around 150-153 pounds, depending on the day. It’s tough sometimes but totally worth it.

I’d love to chat with you more about what I’ve done and how I’ve done but there are 3 tips I will share with you that have helped me:

  1. Don’t drink pop or soda or whatever you want to call it. Drink things with 0 calories. Water is your friend.
  2. Try not to eat something past 7 pm. I used to be a snacker, but I have learned to shut it off by 7 pm. It’s helped me TREMENDOUSLY.
  3. Allow yourself some cheat meals throughout the week. I recommend 3-4 meals a week where you can eat what you want.

Like I said, these habits have helped me a TON. Please let me know how I can help further.

25 months in, and not turning back….EVER.
